Despite a career that took unexpected turns—from a ministry career including freelance writing to the corporate training and IT worlds—the desire to write never left. In 2001 he embarked on an exciting new chapter, beginning his first novel. Elmer's work is deeply rooted in careful research, reflecting his commitment to authenticity and historical accuracy. His membership with the American Christian Fiction Writers is a testament to his dedication to the craft, continually honing his skills to deliver narratives that are as informative as they are entertaining. He was a 2023 semi-finalist and a 2024 finalist for the ACFW's Genesis Award for unpublished writers.
